Women's Philanthropy and the Lion of Judah

The Lions of Judah are the most dynamic philanthropic Jewish women in the world. Lions are strong women of all ages, an international sisterhood of thousands of global activists who care deeply about the Jewish future. Lions of Judah play a vital role in creating social justice, aiding the vulnerable, preserving human dignity and building Jewish identity.

Lions of Judah demonstrate their dedication to the Jewish community by contributing an annual donation to the Jewish Federation of $5,000 or more.

Every two years, Lions gather for three phenomenal days of extraordinary learning, sharing and celebration at the International Lion of Judah Conference. They inspire one another and hear from the world’s leading speakers in the fields of religion, culture, art, business and politics.

Lions take their commitment to the Campaign seriously and many opt to endow their gifts to perpetuate the important work supported by the Campaign into the future. Roughly half of Rochester Lions have taken the step to create a Lion of Judah Endowment (LOJE) to date. This way they can be assured that they have established a legacy of caring and support for the Jewish community in perpetuity. Lions also take on volunteer projects benefiting the general community.

The Federation is deeply grateful to our Lions of Judah for their exemplary commitment to Jewish peoplehood worldwide.
