Jewish Education and Engagement

 

The Jewish Education and Engagement Department of the Federation offers a resource to all those interested in Jewish learning throughout Rochester. We provide programming for families, teens and adults in addition to support for area youth groups and Jewish educators.

 

 

  • Opportunities for teens such as community service projects, Israel experiences and activities bridging denominations.

 

  • Consultation and support to community institutions.

 

  • Jan Katz Grinspoon Award for Excellence in Jewish Education

Jan Katz Grinspoon Award for Excellence in Jewish Education

 

  • A nominated educator must currently be employed by a Jewish organization OR work independently as a Jewish educator. Nominees should demonstrate commitment to Jewish education, creative thinking and implementation of teaching methods and materials, and the demonstrated ability to make a positive impact on their students' lives.

 

  • Winner will receive: $1,500 cash prize + $500 towards Professional Development

 

  • This is a two–step process:
    1. Nominate an educator using this nomination form
    2. Once we receive the nomination form, the Federation will send out an additional link to the nominee.

 

  • Both forms are due by Wednesday, May 2nd at 5:00 pm

 

  • PJ Library

    Enroll your child, aged six months to eight years, and receive free Jewish-content books and CDs mailed monthly to your home.

  • Adults

    The Federation sponsors periodic adult education experiences in collaboration with the Florence Melton Adult Mini-School.

  • Teens

    Through JewishTeensROC we offer lots of opportunities for teens to gather, learn and perform community service. ALL teens in Jewish Rochester are welcome to participate!
